Maxim Kleshchikov @ Artist’s Workshop

MAXIM KLESHCHIKOV

760-screen-shot-2022-02-01-at-033356.png

Maxim Kleshchikov was born in 1981. He studied Painting at Bryansk Art School and graduated in 2002. Seven year later in 2009 he graduated from the St. Petersburg Art and Industrial Academy named after A.L. Stieglitz (monumental and decorative painting). Currently the artist lives and works in St. Petersburg.

In his work, he interacts with various media: painting, graphics, sculpture. The artist explores a human perception of reality and people being in space and time.

Abstract works of his "Temporary" series are about the fear to unveil our true nature to society and, most importantly, about protective barriers we build around us. These barriers can take different forms, but anyway they make our personalities blur. Pictorial and conceptual works talk to viewer, help to identify our protective tools and make us think whether it is worth freeing ourselves from these restricting shackles.

Bad sector is just about to start, but it is a promising series existing so far in the form of sketches and small works. Postinternet perception together with an attempt to systemize disparate data are to be replaced with logical estimates. However, the ephemeral charm of the first reactions remains imprinted on the canvas. It is perfectly conveyed by abstract forms with hints of figurativeness as well as a delicate but contrasting color palette.
